Dr. Harsh Vats is a public and digital health professional with expertise in AI-enabled healthcare systems, implementation research, maternal and child health, and large-scale digital health deployments. He has extensive experience across applied research, advanced analytics, AI-driven public health innovation, and government partnerships. Prior to joining Athena, he worked with Wadhwani AI, where he led initiatives focused on AI-powered decision-support systems, national digital health integrations, implementation research, and strengthening maternal and child health programs in collaboration with ministries, research institutions, and frontline systems.

Dr. Harsh holds a PhD in Maternal and Child Health from the University of Delhi and has contributed to multiple peer-reviewed publications in maternal, neonatal, and child health, including systematic reviews and implementation-focused research. His work and research interests lie at the intersection of public health, artificial intelligence, digital public infrastructure, implementation science, and the translation of complex data systems into actionable policy and program insights. He is particularly interested in building scalable, evidence-driven health solutions that improve frontline service delivery and health outcomes.
